Taiwan's blood donation movement has reached a 50-year milestone. Over the past half-century, blood donations have increased nearly 750 times, reflecting significant progress in Taiwan's blood donation culture. The blood donation movement is also one of Taiwan's most successful social movements. We express our gratitude to every blood donor, senior staff, volunteer, and the various organizing units and corporate agencies. Thanks to their efforts, the national blood donation rate has exceeding 8% in recent years, ranking among the top in the world. The history of the blood donation movement is a true reflection of Taiwan’s love and solidarity. It is a journey filled with both hardship and glory, with nationwide participation fostering the recognition and support for voluntary non-remunerated blood donation in Taiwan. We have compiled the 50-year story of Taiwan's blood donation movement into the book "Love is flowing 50 years." In addition to expressing our gratitude for the collective efforts of society, we also hope to pass this passion on to future generations, calling on everyone to create the next century together.

June 14th is World Blood Donor Day. On this day, the World Health Organization and global partner organizations jointly celebrate. This year marks the 20th anniversary of World Blood Donor Day, with the theme "Thank you, blood donors!", this day aims to thank blood donors worldwide for their years of dedication to saving lives and to recognize the profound impact on both recipients and donors.
